“LET MY PEOPLE (THE PALESTINIANS) LIVE”
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn. From the mischief of created things; from the mischief of Darkness as it overspreads; from the mischief of those who practice secret arts; And from the mischief of the envious one as he practices envy.
Say: I seek refuge with the Lord and Cherisher of Mankind, The King (or Ruler) of Mankind, The God (or judge) of Mankind, from the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws (after his whisper), (The same) who whispers into the hearts of Mankind, Among Jinns and among men.
It is with a profound hope that I write this short yet powerfully transformative message to our leadership: that it’s long overdue for us to turn lemon into lemonade and fully embrace the Jewish State of Israel.
Since the dawn of the progressive eighteenth century western industrial revolution that precipitated the colonial expansion covering the entire Muslim World which inevitably resulted in the establishment of the state of Israel, our Muslim World has been going the opposite direction: regressing backward into wholesale deaths, destruction, and the legitimization of violent doctrine as a cure.
As a Muslim and a member of the human family who is deeply frustrated with the endless carnages in the Middle East and the world at large since the beginning of the nineteenth century, I can no longer remain silent.
The fact is that national boundaries aren’t set by God or His Prophets. They are defined by human beings for political and economic reasons to divide families into different nationalities and ascribing artificial attributes to each. For example, Jordanians, Syrians, Palestinians, etc. Without these divisive labels, there would only be Arabs and Jews living harmoniously on this tiny yet blessed piece of land.
As peoples with so much in common and a long historical coexistence, the fifty seven (OIC) Muslim Nations including twenty two (22) Arab ones should’ve been super excited for helping to establish a Jewish state in their midst, especially knowing the persistent anti-Semitism in Europe that had culminated into a Holocaust and the fact that anti-Semites are also islamophobes. It is time for Arabs and Jews to seize the benefits of irrefutable shared ancestry and a common destiny and become indivisible again.
This leads me to the following points:
The state of Israel is here to stay where it has always been and shall continue to progress. Remember Moses said to his people: "O my people! Call in remembrance the favor of Allah unto you, when He produced prophets among you, made you kings, and gave you what He had not given to any other among the peoples. "O my people! Enter the holy land which Allah hath assigned unto you, and turn not back ignominiously, for then will ye be overthrown, to your own ruin." Holy Quran 5:20,21.
Its establishment was neither a mistake nor preventable. "On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying: 'To your descendants I have given this land..."' (Genesis 15:18)
Its existence should be a source of a great blessing to its neighbors and beyond not a burden.
That with willingness of Israel’s neighbors’ national boundaries readjustment, all Palestinians (home and abroad) can peacefully coexist with their Jewish State neighbor, thereby transforming seventy years of ‘Nakba’ into one with triumphant Abrahamic family future.
That most of the ongoing conflicts in the Muslim World and the ones involving Muslims in the West have connections to the Israelis and Palestinians situation, including the tragic World Trade Center attacks.
That without a full embrace of the Jewish of Israel by the Muslim World, the continuation of sectarian violence and full blown losing wars are inevitable in the Muslim World, while at the same time the Palestinians who have suffered so much will regrettably regress even further.
In conclusion, for the sake of attaining sustainable peace and prosperity for all Muslims, especially the suffering Palestinian hostages in the Holy land, we’re wisely urging OIC and the Arab League to officially welcome the Jewish State of Israel into the family, followed by a week-long celebrations throughout the Middle East for this ‘game changing’ milestone. This is the moment. We must not miss another seventy years of opportunity by sticking to unrealistic aspirations of Israel’s disappearance.
OIC, Arab League and the Jewish State of Israel coming together as one Abrahamic unit within our human family, shall continue to light the minds, spirits and souls of the world’s inhabitants. “Let my people live.” Said I, Moses.
