Gang Free Zones Resolution & Bill To Be Introduced in Albany
By the Grace of God and under the capable leadership of Hon. Jose Rivera, New York State Assemblyman, we shall be moving our public safety agenda an inch forward tomorrow in Albany.
Gang violence that has been sending our children into their early graves and long term jail cells in most urban metropolis in America, is one of the most urgent emerging concerns to be effectively addressed. It has been preventing thousands of students from excelling in schools in New York. It has kept thousands of mothers from sleeping at night in the Bronx. It has drained the brain and resources needed for sustainable development in urban communities in America. It has denied promising futures to millions of youths in the Americas. It has been the single most reliable data for selecting neighborhoods to build jails not schools. It is the worst robber of our youths’ futures. Just to name a few.
