Fernando Cabrera concedes to Vanessa Gibson as winner of Bronx Boro President Democratic Primary Race
Council Member Fernando Cabrera, one of the most prominent Democratic candidate for the Bronx Borough President, has released his concession note to the public, accepting that Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson, the first African American and first woman to win the borough presidential race in the Bronx, with high chance of winning the November election since New York City and the county is dominated and controlled by the Democrats.
In his concession note posted on his Facebook timeline, Cobrera appreciated his supported and congratulated his leading opponent, Vanessa Gibson on her victory in the Bronx Borough President race.
"First, I want to take a moment to thank every single one of those who supported me in this Borough President race. The love and friendships I experienced during this campaign touched me deeply.
"The absentee ballots are still (not) out, but it is clear Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson is the winner and will be our next Bronx Borough President."
He therefore wished Gibson fruitful leadership as the new President of the Bronx County.
"I truly wish her the best in her new leadership role. I will be praying and consulting with my family and friends considering my next steps," he concluded.
If Vanessa Gibson finally wins the November election, she will be the first African American and woman Borough President in the county.
As at the time of the concession, Gibson was leading Cabrera after the 3rd round in the RCV with 6% -- 53% as against Cabrera's 47%.
