District 15 Council member proposes permanent housing for victims of Bronx fire
Council member Oswald Feliz has promised to keep fighting for surviving victims of the January 9 Bronx fire incident that claimed lives of 17 immigrants from The Gambia and Mali until they are provided permanent housing in the City.
He said this in his recent post on his Facebook page while recalling the disastrous day in the county, which took place exactly a month ago.
"It’s been one month since the devastating fire in my district. Our hearts are still broken," Feliz said. "We’ve done a lot, but still lots of work to do - including ensuring that every family obtains permanent housing. We will do everything within our power to ensure it’s done at full speed."
"At same time, will work to strengthen our housing laws and enforcement of such laws, to ensure a similar tragedy never happens again. Look forward to working with all of my colleagues in the NYC Council to make that possible," he concluded.
