Bronx Democratic County Picnic and Softball Game

It was a cloudy Saturday morning similar to last years Bronx Democratic County Picnic where the softball game was cancelled due to rain. This year there was only clouds however and the picnic had many Bronx elected officials in attendance. There was also a dynamic seven inning softball game was played with the Most Valuable Player being John Zacarro Jr., the current Chief of Staff to Councilman Rafael Salamanca, and the Male District Leader from the 80th Assembly District. 

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. who has been seen lately with his father Councilman Ruben Diaz Sr. brought with him his mother Hilda to the Bronx County Democratic Picnic. Former Executive Director for the Bronx Democratic County organization Anthony Perez was warmly welcomed as were the many other visitors. After downing some of the delicious food Bronx Democratic County Leader Marcos Crespo asked for those who wanted to participate in the annual softball game. 

Teams were chosen up with Team Nathalia Fernandez vs. Team Marcos Crespo. Assemblywoman Fernandez's first pick turned out to be the MVP of the game. John Zaccaro Jr. The Male District Leader from Assemblywoman Fernandez's district, and the Chief of Staff for Councilman Rafael Salamanca. Zacarro Jr. would go five for five with a two run homer that was the margin of victory for Team Fernandez in their seven to five victory. After the home run County Leader Crespo said that he would be taking resumes for a new district leader, and that there could be a Chief of Staff position opening up soon.
