Black History Month Healthy Lifestyle Marathon Walk

12:00-3:00 PM

Dear New Yorkers, Happy New Year!

In light of the unfortunate increase of preventable ailments killing us and destroying the quality of our lives in general, we cordially invite you to join the walk and help us safe live.

As Black History Month, February can also be used to educate, motivate and counter self-destructive habits, particularly among the African descent people. In Africa for example, weight gain for men is regarded as signs of privilege and beauty for women. So as the continent’s economic condition continues to improve as it has been for the last decade, this attitude can easily become genocidal and unsustainable healthcare costs. On other hand, over consumption of unhealthy food and sedentary lifestyles are epidemic among the African descendants in the Western World. Since humans are one hundred percent identical gene wise, existing racial health disparities aren’t therefore inevitable. They are the result of unhealthy lifestyles, poverty, and negligible government policies that failed to address them.

So to encourage this long overdue lifestyle modification revolution, particularly among the African descent people, we’ve decided to inaugurate “Black History Month Healthy Lifestyle Marathon Walk” in the Bronx and Harlem on the first Sunday of February annually. We strongly invite political, religious, community, schools leaders and all other stakeholders to join us in making this life-saving mission a success. Thank you! https://www.facebook.com/events/466184554091590/
